What a regatta! With 25 captains registering their yachts at The Loose Mongoose, Trellis Bay – host of the registration dinner/party on Friday evening, talk was of ratings and Anegada beaches. General News So how was Al and Mitzi trip to Venezuela….

The first island in Venezuela that End of The Day anchored in was Testigos. We had a wonderful sail from Carricou to Testigos. The winds were favorable and so were the currents. The currents can set you 10 to 15 degrees west so keeping a careful eye on the GPS and compass is critical. We spent 2 days in Testigos…. Very beautiful. One island is a frigate island and the frigate birds were having a party. Hundreds of them, flying around. The island also has a huge sand dune that we got to see from the boat but could not get there on dingy or foot because of the tide. ( There was no beach to take the dingy to). One of the two anchorages we stayed had waves crashing on one the northern beach and coming through a channel to our side of the anchorage. Quiet a beautiful spot to watch the sun go down and get a peaceful night sleep.

With six large regattas to run a year it seems as though we are all on a constant spin-around. Nevertheless, they do a "bang-up" job and should be recognized. Besides that - we all have an awful lot of fun.
